Centenary - Changing the World

From September 2008 until July 2009 all members of Girlguiding UK were invited to work with partners to change the world.

There were 19 partners, each of whom had written resources especially for guiding units. These projects aimed to help the girls understand, explore and take action on a range of local, national and global issues. They were a wonderful opportunity to highlight the difference that Girlguiding UK members can make not only to their local area but to the lives of people across the world.

The partners were:

  • Asthma UK
  • Barnardo's
  • Book Aid International
  • British Red Cross
  • Camfed International
  • Crisis
  • Friends of the Earth
  • Girlguiding UK Branch Associations
  • Help the Hospices
  • Kidscape
  • Mental Health Foundation
  • National Deaf Children’s Society
  • Plan UK
  • Railway Children
  • Save the Children
  • The Woodland Trust
  • UNICEF UK
  • WaterAid
  • WWF-UK.

Girlguiding London North West chose The Woodland Trust as its county partner. You can read about our county day planting trees at Sarratt campsite in September 2008, here.
